At the start of this year, the Jean-Pierre Demailly Prize for Open Science in Mathematics was created by the  French Mathematical Society (SMF), the Society for Applied and Industrial Mathematics (SMAI) and the French Statistical Society (SFdS) in collaboration with the Epijournal de Géométrie Algébrique.

This biannual prize is awarded to projects that contribute to open science in mathematics through scientific publishing initiatives, collaboration between mathematicians or free software. Its aim is to further highlight the importance of these issues while spotlighting contributions that benefit the scientific community as a whole rather than individual successes.

The awards ceremony will take place on June 12th 2024 during the epiga 2024 conference.
