The SCOSS (Global Sustainability Coalition for Open Science Services) coalition has launched its fourth call for funding for three new services:
- Dryad – an infrastructure for data related to the scientific literature in all fields that do not have their own specialised repositories;
- LA Referencia – a federated network of institutional repositories in 12 Latin American countries[1] that provides access to over 4 million documents;
- ROR (Research Organization Registry ) – an international registry of persistent identifiers for research organisations collaboratively managed by the California Digital Library, Crossref and DataCite. Currently, the registry has indexed more than 100,000 organisations.
The funding targets given by SCOSS are 889,061 Euros for Dryad, 268,200 Euros for LA Referencia and 989,460 Euros for ROR.
The annual amount of funding donations depends on the size of the organisation along with its organisational mode and range from €500 to €8,000.
Through the pooling of funds, the coalition’s ambition is to help construct a stabilised long-term Open Science service infrastructure.
