The Open Science Awards are part of the Second National Plan for Open Science and are awarded by the Minister for Higher Education and Research to reward emblematic initiatives in this field.

The Open Science Research Data Awards reward the efforts of teams and young researchers implementing best practices in structuring, describing, interoperating, disseminating, enhancing the visibility and reuse of research data and so forth.

The Open Science Free Software Awards showcase projects and teams working to develop and disseminate open source software – a common good of prime importance for scientific knowledge.
